Explain the relationship between ovulation, fertilization, and menstruation.

These three processes involve the female productive system, as well as a female's eggs.  Ovulation is when a mature egg gets released from the ovary, and fertilization is the union of that egg with a sperm cell in the Fallopian tubes. Menstruation is a period of time where a female experiences the discharge of uterine lining that comes out as blood every month for around a week. If someone does not get pregnant, and fertilization does not happen, then menstruation will happen. Just as menstruation does not happen when someone is pregnant.
