When a severe storm strikes the floods sometimes last longer. Why?

Because floods can destroy a large mass of land and it’s a huge body of water so it could take a while to slow down and it can cause a hurricane too no cap

Answer: the philippines has suffered from an inexhaustible number of deadly typhoons, earthquakes, volcano eruptions and other natural disasters. this is due to its location along the ring of fire, or typhoon belt – a large pacific ocean region where many of earth's volcanic eruptions and earthquakes occur.

Water flows along the east coast and across the western tropical pacific towards south america, while they both are directed towards that way,  el niño does not directly affect the southern flow of water along the coast.
