Describe the regions of New Zealand and explain why this country is known for geothermal power. THE ANSWER: New Zealand is a large island located south east of Australia. There are many mountains and beaches and the climate varies from warm subtropical in the north, to cool temperate climate in the far south, with intense Alpine conditions and many mountainous areas. This country is known for its geothermal power due to geothermal being it’s cheapest source of electricity, over 17% of New Zealand’s electricity duration from geothermal.
