The oil and the water are two most crucial resources that dictate the economy and the politics of the Middle Eastern region.

The oil is the natural resources that brings almost all of the income for the countries of the Middle East. They have abundance of oil reserves, and as a region, they are the largest producer of it. So changes in the oil prices, and ending of the reserves of it would mean a disaster for this region. The economies will crumble, and the politics will have to change drastically.

The water is very scarce in the Middle East, as the region is mostly dominated by deserts and semi-arid areas. While some countries have some reliable sources of water, though not much, some like the countries on the Arabian Peninsula do not have a single freshwater source, so they transform the salt water into drinking water. The balance with the water resources and the population are right on the line, so bigger changes in a short period of time in the demographics can lead to lack of water and a real disaster for these countries.
