Why do indian farmers look forward to the summer monsoons with both hope and fear?

Monsoons often brought the much needed precipitation for the farming needs. However, the winds they brought were also very destructive and could cause substantial damage to all of the land. 

Developed countries will see a decrease in natural resources, because their population will decrease.
