Korean culture is profoundly influenced by Confucian principles and this pervades not only personal lives, but also business. Confucianism supports group harmony, respect for elders and authority, the importance of family, friendship and ancestors, and also, tradition.Traditionally, the ideal family type in Korea was a patrilocal stem family. The stem family typically consists of two families in successive generation, a father and mother living in the same household with married oldest son, his wife, and their children. The eldest son generally inherited the family estates.

On a day to day life, most Americans are two-income families and so pretty much most American households are busy during weekdays. They enjoy TV, movies, sports (especially Sunday night Super Bowl, NBA, or college basketball), hanging out, partying with friends, eating out, or camping be it with family or friends.Employees are treated as equals and independent views are welcomed. American work culture involves a lot of meetings. These meetings need not deal with big decisions, but are more like discussions, and are centered on analyzing, planning and reviewing of a project. Opinions and ideas are shared and objections are made.
