Overall it mainly spread European ideas and cultures all around the world as they were the ones doing most of the colonising.

The consequences of colonialism and imperialism on European countries was that they could get many more valuable raw and natural resources, which they then made into manufactured goods. Another consequence would be that they would gain more markets, which helped stimulate their economies.
