Renaissance period:

The Renaissance is the term that is given to the period where there occurred rebirth of the European art, culture, politics and economy. It connected the Middle Ages with the modern era. Some of the greatest painters, sculptors, scientists and philosophers prospered during this time. There were major advancements in the fields of humanity, astronomy, printing press, art and literature. Shakespearean works belonged to the late period of Renaissance. The scholars during this period were mostly interested in bringing back the Roman and Greek cultures.
