(360/30 degrees=12x4,400 stadia which was the distance between the well at syene and the column at alexandria which equals 52,800 stades when multiplied by 12.

2. suppose eratosthenes's results for earth's circumference were quite accurate. if the diameter of earth is 12,740km, what is the length of his stadium in kilometers. this question was already solved on chegg but i am not sure if i am confident in the answer they provided. i also feel like the wording of this question is misleading. any insight on how to go about this one would be awesome. show/explain work as well. you.
