D. Byzantium and Persia offered little resistance to Muslim invasions.

Byzantium and Persia had been facing a lot of challenges resulting from various battles they fought against each other. These left the two countries economically, socially, and politically desolate and vulnerable.  

When the Muslim on the rise then invaded these two countries, due to lack of resources they did not fight back or offer resistance, instead the Muslims were able to capture the modern-day Iran and Iraq. Still, on their invasion mission, they moved to North Africa, Spain, and France.
