1) Tobacco: Tobacco was grown mainly in Virginia, and was in large demand at the time of the Thirteen colonies. The merchandise was mainly exported to Britain, and later to other countries

2) Cotton: With the decline in the popularity of Tobacco, southern farmers turned to a new cash crop, cotton. Weather in the southern part of the thirteen colonies was extremely suitable for cotton, and with the rise of the Industrial Age, cotton soon became extremely valuable, allowing them to earn a nickname "King Cotton". They turned huge profits.

3) Rice: Rice was the staple crop for many countries (especially the Eastern Hemisphere countries). This led to a large demand, and a market that gave large yields and profits. Even today, rice has a tremendous market because of the amount of consumers
