“What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?” is a speech by Frederick Douglass which was delivered on 5th July 1852. The speech was delivered in Corinthian Hall, Rochester, New York. Douglass delivered this speech to address the Rochester Ladies’ Anti-Slavery Society. This Douglass’ speech is the most popular speech of him among all of his speeches. This speech is even included in Douglass autobiographies.
