How did satchel paige lay the groundwork for jackie robinson to become the first black major league baseball player

Satchel Paige was a Pitcher who, when pitching at the Negro Leagues, attracted many fans because of the quality of his game. This showed that baseball fans cared more about the quality of a player rather than the color of his skin. 

Later, in 1945 Jackie Robinson was playing as a shortstop at the Negro Leagues, and the manager from the Dodgers contacted him to join the team, knowing that fans would like to see him play, from the example of Satchel Paige. He was the first Black major league baseball player and endured many racist attacks, succeeding at his team and earning respect from his adversaries.
