Then it traveled to Italian, became "altrui", meaning "somebody else", and then to French, became "altruisme", which then became the English "altruism", meaning "selflessness". Regarding the structure of the word "altruistic", seeing that it has the suffix -ic, it can be assumed that this is an adjective meaning "a person who has a quality of being altruistic, or selfless".
