1) The two perspectives are of the maiden and the sailor. They each view the sea in different ways. The maiden is content to walk the shoreline and gaze at the grandeur of the sea. She prefers to be away from the sea when it is rough and stormy. To the sailor, the sea is his livelihood. He must work the sea in all kinds of weather. It is not enough for him to admire the sea: he must also respect it.

2) Good fences make good neighbors basically means that the neighbor wants minimal contact with the narrator. He would rather see a fence than his neighbor. Frost was commenting on the decline of community and the rise of this isolationist way of thinking. He disagrees with his neighbor because he sees the wall as an unnecessary barrier between them.

3) The poems “We Real Cool” and “The Negro Speaks of Rivers” use a viewpoint that is unusual in this unit. The unusual viewpoint is this: Both Brooks and Hughes are calling for a change in the lives and attitudes of their fellow African-Americans -  and they have to do it. These types of positive pieces of art might well have been essential pieces to unite the black community in the call for civil rights.

As the boys sleep, military airplanes battle fiercely above the island. none of the boys sees the explosions and flashes in the clouds because the twins sam and eric, who were supposed to watch the signal fire, have fallen asleep. during the battle, a parachutist drifts down from the sky onto the island, dead.
