A. Somber reflection

It can immediately be deduced that the tone is neither neutral nor hopeful.  The tone is somewhat sad, and both “somber” and “wistful” are words with sadness as their connotation.  That said, because the lines are spoken in the present telling us what will be said in the future, we now know that “wistful” is incorrect because wistful means to yearningly look back or desire something in the past, and because, again, this is in the present, there is nothing to look back on.  Thus, the best option is “somber reflection.”
