Well, first of all I know it's not D. The History of Basketball would include way too much information to include in a Short Essay. 

Second of all, I wouldn't American literature because American literature is a large topic to focus on.

Third of all, I wouldn't say C because an Essay on when to visit the Grand Canyon wouldn't be very entertaining.

My Answer would be A. The impact of television on modern society.
I feel like this would be a simple, short, interesting Essay topic.
