What will probably happen if most people did not obey the laws in your own words

Laws are necessary in any society. ... If they didn't, our society could not operate properly. There would be no laws, rules or regulations regarding the environment, traffic safety devices, or repair of streets and roads. Sidewalks wouldn't be shoveled and open to the public.

If a person breaks the law and is found guilty of the offence, the presiding judge or magistrate might give him an option of a fine. The fine or money is paid to the court. Both fine and imprisonment, depending on the gravity of the offence.
