Achieving great happiness requires traveling to far-off places. Why or Why not?

In Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist, regarding the statement "To achieve great happiness you must be willing to travel to far off places," I would suggest that this is true on several levels. In life, on a literal basis, we often are asked to "go the distance," or take a road that requires more than we might want to give.

Explanation:

In the novel it stays “achieving great happiness requires traveling to far off places”. I agree with this statement because no one can be happy if they never go anywhere. It is crucial to venture off to far places when trying to be happy whether one physically travels or mentally goes on a journey of self-discovery.

In any effort to be happy there is always a journey one has to go on. Everyone is going through life and some stay in the same place their entire life and say they're happy but in reality, they're just comfortable with being safe and that's not what life’s about. The Alchemist has many themes one of which is all creation speaks one language and the earth has a soul. It is important to know the language of the world so that one can understand how things happen.
