What is kinetic energy?

kinetic energy is also called energy of motion. an  example: there was an apple on the tree, somebody sat under the tree and the apple fell, when the apple fell it had kinetic energy because it moved. And when it was still on the tree it had potential energy. potential energy is stored energy.
