The United States, which started with a long history of bloody and brutal slave trade, has not changed its "dark tradition" and has continued to indulge the "dirtiest criminal act" of human trafficking for many years. About 17,500 people are sold into the United States each year against their will or through fraud, mainly for the sex trade or forced labor, according to the State Department.
Cases of forced labor and human trafficking have been reported in all 50 US states and Washington, DC, over the past five years. Data show that most of these people come from India, Mexico, Vietnam, Africa, central and South American countries including nearly 40 countries, trafficking to the United States "sweatshop" to sell coolies, and no labor, employment laws and regulations protection.
