A man often bought oranges from an old lady. After they were bought, he would
always pick one from his bag, taste one segment and complain, âIt's sourâ. He
would then pass it to the seller. The old lady would taste it and retort, "Why, it's
sweet," but by then he was gone with his bag.
One day his wife asked him, "The oranges are always sweet, then why this drama
every time?" He smiled and replied, "The old mother sells sweet oranges but never
eats them herself. This way I get her to eat one, and thereâs no loss.
The vegetable seller next to the old lady asked her, "Every time this man fusses
over the oranges and I see that you always weigh a few extra for him. Why?â The
old lady smiled, âI know he does this to feed me an orange. I never weigh extra.
His love tilts the scale slightly every time."
