Daedalus is a person from Greek mythology, a popular craftsman and expert known for his various creations, just as for building the Labyrinth on Crete. He is otherwise called the dad of Icarus; he made wings for Icarus and himself to escape from Crete via air together. The account of Icarus and Daedalus is told in a Roman source, Ovid's "Transformations"; the Isle of Crete was obstructed by the request for King Minos, however Daedalus needed to get back to his home, Athens.
