In January 2010, there was an earthquake in Haiti. Afterward, many people wanted to help. Computer programmers created Web sites to help Haitians and rescue workers. However, a programmer named Tim Schwartz was worried. People were creating many different Web sites to do the same things. They were not all working together. Information might get to one site but not another. Haitians and workers might not know which site to visit. So, Schwartz and his friends created a new Web site.
