At age 30, less than 2% of adolescent moms graduate from high school.Children of teen moms perform poorly on standardized tests and are 50% more likely to repeat a grade than children of older mothers. Most teen women have their second child within 24 months after the first, which can prolong pregnancy to finish school or retain a job.

A baby won't make him stay:

Despite popular belief, 8 out of 10 fathers do not marry their child's mother. It's also true that many absent fathers pay less than $800 per year in child support, frequently because they are impoverished themselves.

It's the kids that pay:

Moreover half of the welfare moms gave birth as teenagers. In reality, two-thirds of young, unmarried mothers' households are impoverished.There is a five-fold increase in poverty among children who live apart from their dads.It is three times more probable for teenage females to become teen moms.Teen moms' boys are twice as likely to go to prison.

This is why having a kid early is harmful. So how can you avoid pregnancy too early?
