An implied meaning passage is one where the reader does not understand the meaning of the passage by just reading the text it presents, but one where the reader needs to reflect and interpret the text to arrive at the correct meaning.

In the case of "Uncle toms cabin" we have an example of this type of passage, which can be seen in the following lines:

“I looks like gwine to heaven,” said the woman; “an't thar where white folks is gwine?  I'd rather go to torment, and get away from Mas'r and Missis.”

These lines may not be understood once the reader has read them, but they have a very deep meaning that requires interpretation. In this passage, we can see a slave, named Prue, who was much abused by white people.

This has placed such a psychological burden on Prue that it makes her doubt that she will ever have peace even in heaven. In this passage, Prue states that she doesn't want to go to heaven, because the white people will be there and she will have to be explored by them again.

So she claims that she prefers to go to hell, because this place is better than the exploitation and violent environment that whites promote for blacks.

This passage has a strong relationship with the themes covered in "Uncle Tom's Cabin," as this book reinforces the oppressive life and violent system that was instituted for black slaves, which caused both physical and psychological damage.
