Perennialism and Essentialism

Perennialism and Essentialism are the two most comprehensive and important educational philosophies in Western society. their importance is seen due to the influence that each one had in the educational systems developed over the years and the changes that took place in society with the implementation of each of these philosophies.

In summary, we can say that Perennialism reinforced the idea that education had a duty to present to students the great ideas of Western civilization, showing the existence of classical concepts and ideas that, although archaic, were very influential in the construction of thought human. Essentialism, on the other hand, believed eucation should be able to transmit knowledge from teacher to student in a very organized, systematic, and disciplined way.

For me, Essentialism is a philosophy that pleases me most, as the discipline and organization must, in fact, be present in an academic and educational environment, as it allows an order to be established so that knowledge is transmitted correctly. Furthermore, both the human being and society are systems that are constantly evolving. Education must follow this evolution and readjust whenever necessary, for this reason, the Perennialism philosophy is not able to be used in today's world, since it encourages the use of old, archaic and outdated educational approaches.

the author is showing that it is the insatisfaction of basic needs that brings about the protests such as the strikes.if workers do not earn enough to buy food and feed their families and themselves in order to continue working, what is the use of working? besides, another message from the author is that of the owners of factories should be worried about ensuring their furure by having a second and third generation of workers in their industries.if they do not hear the workers demands, they will not have any more workers to make their pockets full.
