Allison thought back to the carefree days before her family headed west. She could swim in the creek or play with her dolls. Things were different now that they were on the wagon trail. She had to help with the little ones while Ma set up the kitchen and cooked the meals. Allison even helped Pa with the horses. Most days, Allison was too busy to even miss the creek or her dolls. Her family needed her, and she was glad to be able to help.
