My dear best friend Mary,

As you may have heard, I was angry with Trish for some trivial thing. And I know she must have told you about it. But I want you to hear about it from me.

It was like this. She was supposed to help me take care of the preparations for Jessie's surprise birthday celebrations. But she didn't turn up for the preparations, shopping for things, or even for the decorations. I didn't say anything when the others asked me about her absence considering she had volunteered to take care of the decorations. Moreover, she didn't inform anyone about her absence.

And when she did turn up, it turned out that she was out with other friends and that she had forgotten about the plans. We have already finished everything, including the decorations, which she then went to criticize and complain about, saying she doesn't like it. It was at that point that I told her it was her fault that she didn't like it and that she doesn't have the right to criticize or comment on it after she was 'missing' from the scene when she was supposed to be.

We exchanged a few harsh words at which point I was done and went away from her. And that's how our 'infamous' spat began. I don't expect her to apologize and I know she won't. But I at least wanted to clear things to you from the other side of the story.

Whatever she may have said to you or told you to do, you don't have to defend me or do anything. I just want you to know the whole story.
