You work for an organization called Environmental Care. You have been hired as a consultant to a pilot program in an elementary school to help a 6th grade teacher, Ms. Clean, to establish a recycling program and garden project with her students. As the consultant, you spend one week in Ms. Clean’s 6th grade class observing her class of 25 students, getting to know their interests and cognitive level. Using principles of operant conditioning (positive and negative reinforcement) and observational learning what programs and/or strategies could the teacher use to encourage recycling of paper, glass and plastic in the classroom and cafeteria. Do NOT use classical conditioning or punishment. Be as creative as possible, but be sure to be specific and to link each strategy to the concept being applied.
