What was the message? Was the book more effective than an essay or speech would have been? Why or why not?

Journal - Drawing Conclusions
Find an editorial cartoon published in the last year. Research its topic online to make sure you understand the context for the cartoon.
Describe the cartoon, and explain the point it is trying to make.

Journal - Shades of Truth

Choose one example of propaganda from the lesson, and explain it. Who made it? What was the intention?
Next, explain how effective you think it was at persuading its audience. Is there anything that could have made it more effective?

Journal - A Way with Words
Write a speech trying to persuade others. Incorporate at least three different strategies described in this lesson. Possible topic ideas are: convince others why they should take care of our planet, convince others that basketball is best sport in the world, convince others that summer is the best season, or another creative idea you have.
Explain how your chosen strategies help create rhetoric. Do they inspire, persuade, or provoke?
