Have you ever seen a rainbow mountain? Well, there are many in China. The Danxia Landforms, named after Mount Danxia in Guangdong province, are breathtaking landforms that are unique to China. They were formed over a period of around 24 million years when rivers deposited red sandstone and other minerals. But let’s learn more about this.

The layers of this natural occurrence are a variety of colors, including blue, red, purple, and many others. There are also various kinds of landscapes. There are steep cliffs, waterfalls, mountains, and other natural features. There are spectacular sights and unusual mountains, such as tall, rounded ones.

Danxia in Zhangye was formed by the erosion of red sandstone, resulting in isolated peaks and steep stratified outcrops. Its extraordinary geological formation, along with long-term desert conditions, freeze-thaw peeling, wind and water erosion, and other causes, resulted in its current appearance.
