Television and movies often make being a police officer seem simple, but the truth is, there is a lot of training
involved. In addition to the physical conditioning involved, police officers must learn how to use and defend
against different types of weapons. They learn how to drive safely at high speeds and how to stop other vehicles.
Police officers study the laws they are tasked with enforcing and how to manage people. Some even take special
classes to prepare for jobs as K-9 officers, forensic scientists, and investigators. It takes a special set of skills to
work in law enforcement.
