For this assignment, you will write a compare and contrast essay about two of the following poems:
Langston Hughes’ “Theme for English B”
Gwendolyn Brooks’ “The Bean Eaters”
Audre Lorde’s “Hanging Fire”
Anne Sexton’s “Young”
What you choose to compare and contrast is up to you. You may choose a recurring image, a recurring literary device, or a common theme, etc. It’s up to you. The key requirement is that you find specific examples from the texts themselves to support your analysis.
