Article on dangers of cultism​

Cultism is an anti-Christ and satanic activity. Cultism was initially restricted to tertiary institutions, but today, it has spread to secondary schools and even primary schools. In neighbourhoods, they operate as gangs, but they all fit into the devil's agenda to destroy as many young people as possible.These have led to great violence on campus which often leaves many students wounded or killed. It sometimes leads to expulsion or rustication, incarceration of both innocent and guilty students. When any of these occur, the learning process, psyche of students and the peace of the campus are adversely affected.The major causes of cultism in tertiary institutions were influence of peer group; parental background; societal decadence; erosion of education standards; militarization of the Nigerian polity; lack of recreational facilities; quest for power and protection among others.The origin of cultism was traced to the Seadog confraternity (a.k.a Pyrates), founded by Wole Soyinka and six others at the foremost University of Ibadan in 1952.From an anti-cultist perspective the reason why the NRMs are considered a social problem is, quite simply, because the movements are a social problem: their beliefs and practices are perceived as anti-social and a danger to individuals and to society.
