Food, especially sweets, can be devastating to your teeth. If you eat one candy, then you’ll stimulate millions of bacteria. The bacteria feed on the sugars in the food and as a result produce acid. The acid dissolves the calcium and phosphate of your tooth enamel. In time, because the enamel becomes so weak, the bacteria break through. Therefore, the next thing you know, you are facing a dentist and a drill!
