Read FDR's press release. Then, answer the following questions (and no links or i'll report it) Based on the press release, what is FDR's expectation of how the war will end? What specific examples of his language indicate his beliefs about who will be victorious?

Soldiers themselves, world leaders, and the general population of other countries expressed shock at the degree of abuse inflicted on the Jews and other minorities after the war ended. This press release makes it clear that reports came in early, so what do you think contributed to the shock? Why was the discovery so difficult when reports were already enough to put together a panel to prosecute war criminals?

Consider how information usually got reported during WWII; how might the world's shock at the war crimes be related to the ways that Wiesel described his community being unprepared for the reality of relocation because of the reports they received about the war ending soon?
