The death of beauty

One by one the drops fall, gently upon the night. Sounds unheard had it not been for the small pitter patter upon the glass window in the room down the hall. Small gusts of wind  altering the path of which the rain is meant to fall.

Down.

Down as the sun sets, always down. How petals fall off a wilting rose which has been picked and yet never given to a love whom the delicate beauty has been picked for.

Every beauty dies, as does every creature who contains life within. The softness of the rain soon fades and the roar of thunder is heard, the petals soon lose their lush velvety touch and become withered as an old crone who was once a beautiful woman.

She now can barely hear the pitter patter of the rain. Every hour seems to be less and less, every day harder and harder. No matter, for this poor old woman shall pass upon the stroke of two in her afternoon slumber.

The rain be stilled and soon stopped entirely, for as the storm passes, her heartbeat fades with it. Love may never die, beauty and life as we know it, however does.

Whether it be as an aged being, or a youthful soul our time always comes, our beauty always dies.
