How does anticipation a persuasive argument

While preparing to make a persuasive argument, anticipation allows you to prepare for things you think might happen in advance.

For example, if you can anticipate the way someone might be able to poke holes in your argument, you can prepare yourself how to address these points within your argument itself or afterwards if there is a discussion.
