Who was the best us president? why?

I'm assuming this is question is for an essay or paragraph, some form of writing excersice, like it was for me:) The following is what I wrote and turned in. Feel free to use the ideas, but please put it into your own words so that you don't get into any trouble:) George Washington is the best US President because he chose to stop being President.

Explanation:

After a while, he decided that he had to step down so that America could figure out how to handle when their leadership changed. He knew that if America was going to last it would have to learn how to outlive him when he left.America couldn't be a monarchy, that was the reason they left in the first place. So, after dedicating forty-five years of his life to the service of his country, both in the war that helped make a country, and in taking control and leading them in the messy aftermath, he stepped down and showed America how to adjust without him. How to build structures and laws that would allow America to outlast the last latest President when their gone. Because he relenquished control, he taught America how to say goodbye and how to move forward. That's why he was the best US President.
