"The Most Dangerous Game" is a short story written by American author Richard Connell that was published on January 19th, 1924. The book tells the story of a hunter from New York City who falls off a yacht and swims to an Island of the Caribbean where he is hunted by a Russian aristocrat.

In the story, there are two types of conflict; one internal and one external. The external conflict, which is the fight between General Zaroff and Sanger Rainsford creates the internal conflict, which is Rainsford's recognition that there is a fine line between the hunter and the hunted.

An experienced hunter, Rainsford, is now being the hunted, and in this experience he learns how when being hunted, humans or animals, both feel pain and panic.

The external conflict is simple, the man vs man battle, that is portrait by General Zaroff trying to hunt Sanger Raisnford. The internal conflict is more complex, is man vs man himself. Rainsford, who has been historically the one hunting is now the press, and he soon starts to question his beliefs about hunting and how he had been treating the animals he was trying to hunt.
