Yet, in the story of Grendel, Grendel is characterized as the ‘protagonist’. His attack to King Hrothgar’s great hall is because he feels ‘harrowed’ by the sounds of singing from the King of the Danes’ hall. Sadly, people consider it as an attack from a cruel and bad monster.
