In the famous passage of the Odyssey where Ulises blinds the Cyclops in order to escape, as he and his men are escaping, he yells at the Cyclops that “nobody” (outis, in Greek, which is one of many pseudonyms that Homer reserves for Ulises or Odysseus) was the one who blinded him. As the Cyclops looks for help so that they can stop Ulises, nobody pays him any attention since he himself screams that “nobody” has injured him. Trickery, indeed, one of Ulises most renowned characteristics, is a valuable weapon in battle.
