how did the author created him?

john thorton is characterized as a compassionate man. we know this because he is the one who saves buck from dying and becomes his new master. he is also used as a way to show that the relationship between dog and master does not have to be an unequal one. he treats buck as a partner. this is shown by how he rescues buck from drowning, and how buck repays the favour. he is also used as a symbol of primitive men. his bond to buck is an ancestral   one. this is shown by the fact that, even as buck becomes wilder, the bond between the two is never broken.

What i did was pick the character i liked best (i picked buck) and i looked up quotes from the book. i chose three characteristics that made buck himself. i chose to use loyalty, that he is strong and intelligent, and that he is competitive. i used quotes to show that they were true about buck. hope i !
