My Parents Were Right
Explanation:
Today I woke up being very exuberant. Today was Sports Carnival Day! I couldn’t wait for this day to come. My sport was swimming, and I love swimming! I quickly got dressed and rushed down stairs.
“Today is Sports Carnival Day!” I bellowed. But before I could say anything else a voice broke my thoughts, “Hello Amanda!” my dad interrupted “Hi dad!” I said as I walked towards the lounge room, (which was where they were sitting) “Your mother and I have decided that maybe you shouldn’t do swimming at the Sports Carnival. We’re worried you would maybe drown” told dad Amanda. “What! B… b… but I’ve already signed up!” I cried. How could they say such a thing! “Oh, I know you’re upset Amanda but you can play a different sport like um… basketball! It’s a very quintessential sport. Did you know that when I was young I used to play basketball all the time.” Persuaded mum. “Well whatever you say is not going to happen. I’m going to do swimming no matter what!” I shouted. Then I went stomping of to my breakfast.
After a while I calmed down and it was time for me to go to school. “Bye mum, bye dad!” I called out. “Goodbye Amanda!” Mum and dad replied as I went out the door.
When I got to school I went to the swimming pool and approved my name. I went to the change room to change into my swimming suit. My swimming suit was a dark blue swim suit, with light pink at the top of both arm holes and dark pink below the light pink. I love this swim suit because it fits me perfectly.
When I went out of the change room I saw the most meanest, most spoilt girl in the school, it was Mackenzie with her spoilt friends. “Oh look who we have here, it’s Miss Amanda the worst swimmer in the whole school!” teased Mackenzie. Her friends started to laugh. But before I could say anything the caller started to shout “3, 2, 1, GO!” I dived in the water and then to my surprise I started to drown!
Maybe my parents were right. Maybe mum was right, maybe I should have played a different sport like basketball.
When I got back home I ran to my room and wrote a note on a piece of paper, it read: ‘Always listen to mum and dad. They are always right.’ I stuck the piece of paper on the wall so that I would never forget it; and from now on I always listened to my parents. Ever since Sports Carnival Day I had learned a lesson, to always listen to mum and dad.
I hope it's helpful!
