In the year of our Lord 2020, an innumerable amount of saddening and uplifting occurrences transpired. Many would like to disregard this year and push it to the back of their minds; whether it be Kobe and Gigi Bryant's passing, the coronavirus outbreak, everything that went on with the government, or something else, it was a difficult year for many. Although many forgettable incidences and circumstances took place during this time, it is a year not to be forgotten; but more to be remembered for many challenges that our human race encountered. This is the year that the pandemic surprised many, while simultaneously spreading throughout the entirety of the world. The seriousness of this widespread result in numerous dissimilarities in our daily lives. The closing of schools, locking down of different nations, and people being let go from their jobs. The entire situation was very frustrating and continues to be. The virus affected almost every aspect of life and provided everyone on the planet, and particularly affected countries, important lessons.

           One of the multitudes of lessons that people ought to have learned during the pandemic is being in a good state of health is extremely valuable and oftentimes overlooked. As a human race, we should learn to love ourselves and one another despite changes in our income, social life, or work environment. 2020 has taught people to count their fortunes and blessings, as well as not taking the normalities of life for granted. I learned to appreciate the fact that I have a family who provides for me and has the ability to provide for others. In addition to the previous statements, we should continue to lift others up and treat each person we meet with respect. We do not always know what people are going through.

           Even with everything that went on last year and continues into 2021, I still continue to press on. I have kept my spirits up for hope of a better tomorrow because we never know what can happen. Physical and mental techniques such as relaxing at times and steady breathing exercises have helped to ease the tension and keep my mind focused. I will continue to press onward because I have to move forward in life to strive towards my end goal. Keeping my body, mind, and soul hearty and healthy, all the while reflecting on what's been accomplished in my life to use as a driving motivation.
