What happens to a dream deferred?

Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore—
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over—
like a syrupy sweet?

like a heavy load.

People are often faced with obstacles in their lives. These obstacles can make it hard to see the finish line, but people can either chose to persevere or give up. When life gets tough, which action should people take, and why?
