ashley talked to his family for hours about how much he wanted a puppy. it took them forever, but they finally gave in.

Ashley had been arguing with his parents for hours. "Please, can we please just get a puppy?" he asked for the millionth time. "I'll take car of it, I promise," he continued to plead.
His father gave a heavy sigh and glanced wearily at Ashley's mother. She gave the slightest nod, and the man turned his attention back to Ashley. "Alright," he said gruffly, "But only under these conditions..."

Ashley is holding back her tears. 

"I will feed it." She says. "I will keep it clean." She continues to beg. 

Her mother looks at her father as if it's slowly giving in. 

"Please let me have a puppy," Ashley couldn't hold the tears any longer. Her voice cracks. 

Her father sighs. "Alright. But it stays outside during the night."
