Samantha finally convinced me to go for a morning run with her. Even though I've
never liked running anywhere but on a soccer field, I met up with her at the city
park at 7 a. m. on a Saturday. I had never spent much time at the city park, but
now I saw that it had fields, a playground, and a small lake with boats pulled up
on the shore. Several people were walking their dogs, and there were a few other
joggers like us. Samantha gave me a granola bar, and we started stretching. After
a few minutes, we headed out down the three-mile path.
