The 15th Amendment allowed all men in the United States the right to vote regardless or race or previous status as a slave. This, in theory, should've allowed men of color to easily vote, but this was not the case. Polling places instituted things like literacy tests and polling fees which made it difficult for African-Americans as not many had sufficient education or income as they had only recently escaped servitude. Overall, the 15th amendment provided little to no benefit to African-American men, and no benefit to African-American women as they still could not vote at all.
